New TV ad launched by BC-STV campaign
Commercial reminds voters of unfair 1996 and 2001 election results
Vancouver, B.C. - The campaign to bring fair election results to British Columbia takes a big step forward
this week with the launch of a new television advertising campaign. The 30-second ad titled "Fair Results" reminds voters of the unfair seat counts that occurred after recent elections.
The television ads will begin running this week and continue until the end of the campaign.
The ad features photos of real grassroots supporters from around British Columbia who endorse changing the way we elect provincial politicians. The campaign behind BC-STV consists of thousands of volunteers throughout the province who are handing out brochures, putting up lawn signs, hosting community events and spreading the word on the Internet.
A copy of the ad, which begins airing on Tuesday, April 28, is available for at www.stv.ca/fairresults

Does this sound fair to you?
Three elections ago, one party got 37,000 more votes but the other party formed government.
That's not fair.
Next time, 42 per cent of voters got only 3 per cent of the seats.
That's not representative.
STV electoral reform means fair election results
And accountable politicians.
It's easy to use - see how at STV.ca.
Then, join thousands of British Columbians like these
And vote for fairness with STV electoral reform.
British Columbians for BC-STV is the official proponent of the single transferable vote (STV) system
recommended by the BC Citizens' Assembly on Electoral Reform. On May 12, in a province wide referendum, British Columbians will choose between the unfair "first-past-the-post" system and BC-STV.
