Canvassing Tips

• More gets done when 2 canvassers work together, not at the same door, but as individual canvassers working both sides of the same street simultaneously. This makes canvassing more fun and efficient!

• Dress for the weather and for comfort, not for selling something (no suit/tie).

• Be polite, never get into an argument.

• Apologize if it ’s apparent that you have interrupted the person’s activity (nap, meal).

• Wear a name tag or button for identification.

• The best time for canvassing is Saturday after 1pm and late weekday afternoons to early evening.

• Canvassing after dark means people will be less likely to open their door to you.

• Don’t “Burn and Crash”! Pace yourself.
